I have a Bachelor of Science from University of South Florida in Elementary Education. My State teaching certifications include Reading K-12, English 7-12, and Exceptional Student Education K-12.
I have 20 years of teaching experience in both public and private school settings. I have taught all ages with most of my time spent with middle school and high school English and Reading. Regardless of the age group or subject matter the part that drives me the most is reaching each student at his or her level. Having experience with exceptional students means that I am able to alter lessons to best reach students where they are. I am also adept to teaching any subject using all learning styles (auditory, kinesthetic, and visual) to reach every student.
Due to a riding accident I had to step away from the traditional classroom and am thrilled with this opportunity to return to my true passion of teaching young people. My greatest joy is watching those moments when a student lights up with the understanding that he or she did something they had struggled to do before. I am really excited that God has brought me here to First Academy to once again use the gifts that He has blessed me with.
